We\u2019re an international institute for property and asset managers, providing complete knowledge to take on real estate management\u2019s most dynamic challenges. The Journey of establishment of IREM Chapter in South Africa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

IREM South Africa Gauteng Chapter was launched on 6th<\/sup>\u00a0February 2019 by then IREM International President Mr. Don Wilkerson CPM\u00ae, accompanied by IREM International director Ms. Leah Misbin at the Sandton Convention Centre. It is the 123rd<\/sup>\u00a0IREM global Chapter that was approved at IREM Global Summit by Governing body on\u00a026 \u2013 29 September 2018 conference held at the Diplomat Beach Resort, Hollywood\/Ft, Lauderdale, Florida, USA.

The long journey to bring IREM to South Africa began in 1987 at the Old Mutual Properties library when Chapter President, Mr. Saul Gumede CPM\u00ae, stumbled across a Journal for Property Managers. He then introduced IREM to the South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners (SAIBPP), which signed a protocol agreement in November 1998 to work together to bring both IREM training and the designation to the country.<\/p><\/div>

IREM is an international community of real estate professionals dedicated to ethical business practices, maximizing value of investment real estate and promoting superior management through education and information sharing. It was established over 85 years ago, with networks of over 100 IREM Chapters, over 20 000 members and partner organizations around the world – with current representation in 15 countries. It has wealth of experience, leading the field nationally and internationally, promoting professionalism, providing education and certification and upholding ethics.

Their dedication in the last 18 months, since the Chapter application was approved by Governing Council at the 2018 IREM Global Summit, has been unparalleled.
